MID-HUDSON PSYCHIATRIC CENTER..............ACS completed a power plant retrofit that included (3) firetube boilers, a #6 oil oil pumping and heating set, a #2 oil pump set, a deaerator, a blowdown separator, chemical feed systems, plant combustion control panel, SCADA system, and extensive instrumentation including flow meters, transmitters, and safety switches. The boilers were manufactured by Johnston Boiler, and the burners by ST Johnson. The deaerator was manufactured by Deaerating Designs which is now owned by Precision Boiler. A sophisticated reporting system was included that provides daily logs of fuel flows, degree days, cost of fuel, and efficiency.
PARKCHESTER PROJECT COMPLETED ................ACS has just completed a one year project installing Heat Control Panels in each of (32) heat control rooms at Parchester South Condominium. These panels control the steam usage of the buildings by modulating the Steam Control Valves. In addition, the controls turn on and off the vacuum pums, monitor steam pressure, condensate vacuum, domestic hot water temperature, condensate return temperature, sump level, condensate receiver level, and house tank alarms. All this information is networked back to the power plant utilizing (60) year old control cables. At the plant there is a workstation running Intellution SCADA software for remote control of all heat control panels. Parkcheater is a middle-class community located on 121 acres in the Bronx, New York. AUTOFLAME Boiler controls have now been approved by the City of New York for installation on boilers in the 100 to 1000 hp range. Recent installations include Jacobi Medical Center, and Wagner Houses of the NYCHA. Autoflame can produce fuel savings up to 20% on either gas or oil firing, which makes it a great performance contracting product.
